Woah!

Just when you thought hockey was dead the flyers go and sign some of the biggest names available in this new era of the salary cap and free agency. Things seem to be much differnet in the hockey world and the flyers made some quick and exciting moves.

The return of Therien, picking up Hackett and Rathje. The defense is looking to be the strongest they’ve been in years. Along with Johnsson, Desjardain will be back from his injury not to mention Pitkanen and Seidenberg.

But the big one.. the one that made my jaw drop… Peter Forsberg is now a Philadelphia Flyer.. … wait a few seconds to let is set in … Holy Shit! Possibly one of the best players in the world when he’s healthy, coming to my flyers! This could be the edge they need. Along with their revamped blue line!!!

Needless to say I’m way excited. I’m trying to get Matt fired back up with Flyers fever, but he’s trying to downplay it and remain anti-hockey. He’ll catch it. I’ll make sure of that.

Lets get ready for that parade down Broad Street. And yes, I will be there.
