Oh Glorious Contacts

I’m on day 6 of wearing contacts and so far so good. Had a brief problem yesterday when my left contact drifted into the corner of my eye leading to some panicked moments as I thought it had fallen out. I eventually got it out and it’s back in now. Today is the first day I’m going for an all day contact wearing fest, I’ve gradually built up the length I’ve worn them all week, so today is the first time going for an extended period. I got a softball game tonight so it will be interesting to see how I do glasses-less.

I’ve started playing galaxies again as well. Matt and Erik convinced me to give it another shot and I’ve been pleasently surprised thus far. The excecution still dosent match WoW and it’s not as fluid either, but it is the star wars universe and you gotta love that. They’ve put in more of a story based leveling/questing system, very similar to wow, and it’s fun and engaging thus far. We’ll have to see if it continues to keep my attention. WoW is still there, but between swg and oblivion i might be away for some time.

Phils pick up the season today with games against Milweakue. Lidle pitches tonight. I’m excited to see Hamels pitch again on thursday. He looked real good in his first start and his second start against another good team will be a great test. I’ve been pleased with Victorino’s performance over the past couple of games. He’s hit .529 last week going 9/17. Very Impressive, and he has filled in nicely for Rowand. His bat and speed have brought a change of pace to the Phils offense. Although not the same level of defensive player as Rowand (the 1 Hamels hit he let drop in for a double on Friday for example) he hasnt cost the phils runs or games yet. Still some rumors of Abreu going to NYY. I so hope not. I’m tired of the rest of the league being a farm system for the venerable Yankees.

Watch out for the Braves this week. They’ve Got the Marlins for another 3 games this week. Hopefully the fish can stay ahead of them and prevent them from climbing up the NL East.

Well onward to softball today. Will let you know how we progress! We’re 1-5 now.. but I feel a few more victories coming! Go Team HMS!
