Sadness mixed with Joy
Alas: you cannot win them all… It’s a long season… It’s only one game…
I keep saying these things to myself this morning after a heartbreaker last night. 14-10 Falcons over the Eagles. But the eagles will bounce right back against the niners on sunday so there is not much to worry about. And when the eagles and Falcons meet up again in the playoffs the Eagles will be firing on all cylinders.
The ejection of trotter in the pre-game warm up seems too planned for me. That it was a nickel back giong after him and not some starter seems like the Falcons had it planned to get one of the most vital cogs to the Eagles run defense out of the game early. With trotter in the game I dont think the Falcons would have been able to control the game as well as they did. Although the D did step it up considerably in the second half after giving up 14 and stifiled the “DVD” offense.. god that is a horrible acronym.
McNabb and the offense looked to be way off their game. The injury to McNabb which led to the interception seems to have rattled the offense and totally threw them off. I would have liked to have seen McNabb spread the ball around more. His reads seemed to go from Westbook to TO and back to Westbook. Very little did he look over to Greg Lewis or LJ although it was nice to see a few throws to Reggie Brown. I have a good feeling about this Rookie. Maybe once McCants gets more playing time we can see the offense open up a bit more. Otherwise teams will just double TO and Westbrook all game.
All and all it’s been a good Week 1. Lots of good games, upsets, and close games. I won in both my Fantasy Football Leagues:
Alpaca Team 1 won handidly over “Big Mean and Green” of Jason Duncan. Big Games from Kerry Collins and Shaun Alexander got me the win. Got a bunch of 8′s and 9′s from the rest of the staff. Micheal Bennett and JJ Arrington were a bit disapointing.. but oh well.
Alpaca Team 2 was losing by like 20 going into Monday night football. Westbrook had a fairly decent game and got me some points to pull within 6. And middling points from Vick and Owens was enough to put me over the top.. albiet by only .22 points! McMicheal and Lee Evans failed to put up decent numbers, both under 5 points but the overall didn’t hurt. Final Score on that one: 81.97 to 81.75. Let’s hope for no adjustments!
The phillies are a game back from the Wild Card as we start heading into the final weeks of the season. I have tickets to two upcoming games, let’s hope their going to be meaningful. The Marlins have passed the ‘Stros.. (god i hate the marlins.. and the braves! Death to Atlanta!) and the phils are creeping back into the wildcard. We’re on the verge of another september colapse by the phils. Don’t worry folks.. they have plenty of time to shoot themselves.
We signed the revised contract for the house last night. Very exciting. Nancy told us that the listing agent isn’t accepting any more bids! So we are very very excited about the whole house thing. I’ll be getting some pictures of the house this weekend when we go through with the House Inspektor. I want to get the house now!!!!!!!!
Le sigh.. must be patient.
