This week Mike Vick was indicted by the Federal Government for dogfighting.

While typically I thoroughly agree that a man is innocent until proven guilty, there has to have been some knowledge on his part that this was taking place. That’s why from here on out I will be boycotting any products which Micheal Vick has been a known endorser for.

I’m not typically a left-wing militant who boycotts Macdonald’s. I’m an average Joe citizen who watches football. I will not be watching any event on tv that has the atlanta falcons playing if Mike Vick is a member of that team or organization. I will boycott any sponsors of said sporting events as well.

I call on everyone else out there to do the same. Athletes have gotten too much above normal citizens. They believe they can do anything and very often appear to have no moral compass. This isnt just football players, but also basketball players (who I feel are more consistently amoral) baseball players, and hockey and soccer as well.

These people need to stop being idolized just because they can throw a ball far, or run really fast, or hit the ball a mile. Many of these athletes are scum. People we would want to have nothing to do with in normal society. They should be held accountable for their actions.
